THE TEAM
So many amazing, selfless people have contributed their time or money, and sometimes both, to make this project a success. Here are just a few.
Richard Watson
Richard is a classmate from New Caney High School and is the organizer and driving force behind The ALS Mach 1 Project.The shop, Rusty Nuts Garage, is at his house. He manages to find something in the shop to tinker with almost every day.
Robert Easterling
Robert is a long time friend of Richard and his partner in Rusty Nuts Garage. He was gracious enough to agree to the shop, tools, and equipment to be used for the ALS Mach 1 project.
John Davis
John is a classmate from New Caney High School. He spent more than 30 in commercial aircraft maintenance and has been known to work on vehicles in sub-freezing temperatures. He comes to help on weekends.
Brett McMath
Brett is a classmate from New Caney High School. He and Craig are the Ford fans of the group. Brett is very knowledgeable on Ford facts, production details, stats and more, focusing primarily on the mid 60's through the early 70's. He spends a lot of time at Rusty Nuts Garage and helps whenever he is there.
Gary Withrow
Gary is a classmate from New Caney High School. He comes to help on weekends.
Curtis Smith
Curtis is a classmate from New Caney High School. He has a long history of working on cars, Fords in particular. Most of his teachings come from his late father. Whether it was rejoining the front and back halves of a car, or laying down a stellar "pearl" paint job, his dad was a stickler for details, and a consummate DIY'er. Curtis credits his dad with teaching him about cars and trucks, and how to work on then when needed. Some of Curtis' days off are spent helping out at Rusty Nuts Garage.
Mike Silva
Mike is a classmate from New Caney High School. He has worked on all kinds of cars and trucks since high school, and comes to help at Rusty Nuts Garage on weekends.
Staci (Ryan) Wood
Staci is a fellow classmate from New Caney High School and handles fundraising for the ALS Mach 1 Project. She and Craig have known each other for roughly (gasp) 50 years. They first met when Craig's mom would babysit Staci and her sisters overnight. They have maintained their friendship ever since. Staci spent many nights and weekends riding around in the Mach 1. Ask her about the glovebox.
